Srushti began preparing herself for the UPSC examination in her 3rd year as a student in engineering. While she was graduating, she wondered if engineering would make her happy. Then she realized that her dream job was within the civil service, and she began to concentrate on this. Her parents encouraged her to be an official in the civil service and to pursue an employment in the public sector. She did not lose motivation and was focused in her pursuit to become an IAS. Achieving UPSC takes more work. When she was preparing in her engineering courses and other classes, she also used to study for different subjects of UPSC. Every day, she set aside time to prepare for the exam. She mastered the engineering exams in just one and a half months and stayed away from social activities. She believes that focus and concentration are the key to pass the exam to be a government official. She was extremely determined to succeed in this test and made a great amount of work. Every day, she read the newspapers to stay abreast of the latest news. Rajya Sabha TV, online sources and various study tools were of great assistance to her.
